Darshan & Aarti Timings
Ram Mandir is open for darshan every day of the year. The general schedule is:
- Mangala Aarti: Early morning (around 4:00 AM) — requires a pre-booked pass
- Morning Darshan: 6:30 AM – 12:00 PM
- Afternoon Break: Approximately 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
- Evening Darshan: 2:00 PM – 9:30 PM
- Shringar & Sandhya Aarti: Morning and evening (around 7:00 PM) — pass required
- Bhog Aarti: Mid-morning — pass required
On special occasions such as Ram Navami (the birth celebration of Lord Ram), Diwali / Deepotsav, and Vivah Panchami, the temple remains open for extended hours and draws enormous crowds. How to Book an Aarti Pass
Aarti passes are free of cost but limited, and issued on a first-come, first-served basis. To attend Mangala, Shringar, or Sandhya Aarti:
- Visit the official portal at online.srjbtkshetra.org
- Register or log in with your mobile number
- Select the aarti you wish to attend and your preferred date
- Enter your details and ID proof
- Download and print the pass — carry it with you along with matching photo ID

Best Time to Visit
The most comfortable season for Ayodhya darshan is October to March, when the weather is pleasant and the festival calendar is rich — Ram Navami in spring, Deepotsav in autumn, and the Pran Pratishtha anniversary in January.
- For weather: October to March
- For fewer crowds: Weekday mornings, and the monsoon months (July–September)
- For festivals: Ram Navami, Deepotsav, and Makar Sankranti — but expect large crowds and book accommodation months ahead

Entry Rules & What You Can Carry
Ram Mandir has strict security, in line with the world’s most visited temples. Knowing the rules in advance saves you time and prevents disappointment at the gate.
Mandatory:
- A valid government photo ID (Aadhaar, Passport, or Voter ID)
- An aarti pass printout if attending a specific aarti
Allowed:
- Small cash for offerings
- Your ID and pass
- A small handkerchief or cloth
Strictly prohibited inside the sanctum:
- Mobile phones and cameras
- Smartwatches, fitness bands, and other electronics
- Leather items (belts, wallets, handbags)
- Bags, purses, and any large items
- Fresh flowers (in some areas — confirm locally)
- Outside food, tobacco, and alcohol
Use the locker facility near the entry gate to store phones, wallets, and bags safely. Arrive early to account for security checks and locker deposits, especially on busy days.
Dress Code
Modest, traditional clothing is expected and, in most cases, enforced.
- Men: Kurta-pyjama, dhoti-kurta, or full-length trousers with a shirt
- Women: Saree or salwar kameez with a dupatta
- Avoid: Shorts, sleeveless tops, ripped clothing, and overly casual Western wear
A light shawl or dupatta is useful — it covers the head in temple areas and protects against cold during early-morning aarti.
How to Reach Ram Mandir
By Train: Ayodhya Dham (AYDM) and Ayodhya Junction (AY) stations are well-connected to Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Mumbai. By Road: Ayodhya is accessible from Lucknow (130 km), Varanasi (200 km), and Prayagraj (160 km) by NH buses, private cabs, and UPSRTC buses.
